The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority [TRA] of UAE has revealed the report of findings the reviews it has undertaken of the nation’s most popular Smartphones and other mobile handsets. Apple’s iPhone 4S get the maximum number of reviews followed by iPhone 5.

According to TRA’s report iPhone 4S is most popular Smartphone in the UAE and iPhone 4, Galaxy S3, iPhone 5, BlackBerry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Bold 9780 are in the queue. In terms of general mobile phones Nokia is the lord of them all in the UAE market. Nokia has wide range of budget phones that enabled it to capture a huge share of the market.

Interestingly, report had also showed that the most commonly used mobile operating system in the UAE. Symbian OS capture 50 % of overall Market while iOS grabbed 13.8 %, BlackBerry 10.7% and Android OS 10.4 % respectively.

The Director General of TRA Mohamed Nassar Al Ghanim said- “The report provides an interesting snapshot of the UAE’s mobile handset market share which has very distinct characteristics in terms of consumer adoption. It also reflects a dynamic ecosystem in which both feature phones and smartphones are emerging as the future growth engines of the telecommunications industry.”
